New Pattern: Introducing the Amy Skirt!

I’m not sure about you guys, but I feel like there’s a noticeable dwindling of sewing resources in South Africa. Burda magazine isn’t so easy to come by in the local CNA, and sewing patterns from the haberdashery are increasingly expensive or out of stock, and frankly, just not that inspiring! It’s time to put the fashion back into sewing.

So to start off, I’m going back to basics with affordable, easy-to-use sewing patterns that you can download and print at home.

Inspired by summer and designed with beginners in mind, the Amy skirt pattern is all about more fun and less fuss.

The skirt is simply constructed and gathered onto a waistband, with the added utility of sneaky in-seam pockets. It is fastened in the back seam with an invisible zip.

Invisible zip

This is an elegant high-waisted skirt that is deviously simple to sew, and deliciously comfortable to wear. And, fittingly, midi-skirts are dancing their way back onto the shop rails for summer, so now’s your chance to dazzle in a creation of your own.

The Amy skirt pattern is available in the shop for R89 as a PDF download for printing at home. Go forth, download, print and sew! I cannot wait to see what you create.
